Mayank Meena

As a second-year student in the Master of Arts in Global Leadership program at Royal Roads University, I have developed a profound understanding of leadership, community building, and global coordination. My current studies in Global Leadership have further enhanced my ability to lead with empathy and strategic vision. This program has taught me the importance of collaboration, innovation, and cultural intelligence—qualities that are essential for fostering a vibrant student community at Royal Roads University. My journey has been enriched by diverse experiences across various international organizations and a deep commitment to climate change advocacy and community building. With more than five years of experience in the social sector and urban development sector, I have cultivated strong skills in welfare communication, team coordination, and cross-cultural dynamics. I have had the privilege of working with renowned organizations such as the Climate Group, U20, GCoM, MUFG Bank, and the World Bank. These roles involved coordinating climate action projects across South Asia and developing partnerships with international NGOs and local governments across the globe. My vision for RRUSA is centred around enhancing student welfare through initiatives that promote student success, strengthen community relations, and improve student experience. I believe in creating an inclusive environment where every student feels valued and empowered. By advocating for policies that support diverse student needs and fostering a culture of collaboration, I aim to ensure that RRUSA is a powerful voice for all students. I am passionate about community building, as demonstrated by my volunteer work with organizations like the Greater Victoria Green Team and the Ancient Forest Alliance. These experiences have reinforced my belief in the power of collective action and community engagement. As President, I will prioritize initiatives that strengthen our campus community and encourage active participation from all students. My diverse experiences as a leader, learner, and global coordinator make me uniquely qualified to serve as RRUSA President. I am eager to bring my skills and passion for community welfare and climate change advocacy to create a more sustainable and inclusive campus environment. Together, we can build a stronger Royal Roads community that supports current and future generations of students.
